Brummer's Ice Cream Parlor (Courtesy Brummer's)

This is an early photo of Brummer's. I don't remember if the building remained the same physically in the '50s and '60s as it looks in this picture.

Brummer's was located at the Junction in Jersey City. It was a short walk from 45 Harrison Avenue to this popular ice cream parlor. A lifelong ice cream lover, I went there frequently.

I remember one time the lady behind the counter made a remark about a motorist who sped through a light at a high rate of speed to avoid the red light. She said that he would only have to stop at the next light.
